The New Trier School Board Caucus is pleased to announce its slate of endorsed candidates for the April 6, 2027 election. The New Trier Board of Education will have four seats open for election. The New Trier School Board Caucus began meeting in September to select candidates. After interviewing numerous impressive, qualified candidates, the Caucus has endorsed current Board member Courtney McDonough, current Board member Sally Pofcher, Dev Mukherjee and Richard Adams for service on the New Trier School Board.  

Courtney McDonough, a Winnetka resident, has served on the New Trier School Board since being elected in 2023, and currently serves as the Board’s Vice President.  Courtney and her husband have three children (New Trier Classes of 2023, 2025, and 2027). An educator with a career dedicated to supporting children and families, Courtney spent a decade at Compass Health Center in Northbrook, where she served as an education specialist and Director of Education within its behavioral health programs for children and adolescents. Courtney previously taught second, fourth, and fifth grades and worked as a Child Life Specialist at UCSF Children’s Hospital. Courtney earned a B.A. in Psychology and Elementary Education from the University of Notre Dame and an M.Ed. specializing in Child Life in Hospitals from Mills College, now part of Northeastern University.

Sally Pofcher,  a  Wilmette resident, has served on the New Trier School Board since being elected in 2023, and serves on the Board’s Facilities, Finance, Community Engagement and Booster Committees.  Sally has three daughters, two that are New Trier graduates (2018 and 2020) and one a freshman at New Trier.  Sally formerly served as the CEO of Shutterfly Inc., PaperSource and Hanna Andersson, and was a partner at both McKinsey and L Catterton, a consumer private equity firm.  Sally holds an undergraduate degree from Georgetown,  an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern and  is currently a Fellow at University of Chicago’s Leadership and Society Initiative.

Dev Mukherjee is completing his eighth and final year of service on Glencoe District 35's Board of Education. He is CTO and Chief AI Officer at Silvan Sage LLC, founded Xpert.LY LLC, and has taught at DePaul University's business school since 2012. Dev and his wife, a local pediatrician, have three children, the oldest now a sophomore at New Trier. He was formerly CEO of Evite and an executive at IBM and Microsoft. He has also been an investor and board member, leading organizations from startups to global companies. Dev holds an MBA from MIT Sloan and a BSc from the University of Manchester.

Richard (Rick) Adams, a Wilmette resident, is a United Airlines captain, and retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel with 21 years of military service. Rick holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, a master’s degree in Diplomacy from Norwich University, and a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy. Having completed his military career, Rick hopes to continue his commitment to public service by contributing to the community he calls home. Rick and his wife, a New Trier graduate, have three sons attending District 39 schools.
